Agrupamento de Escolas Alberto Sampaio (Portugal)
The Alberto Sampaio School Group, located in Braga, resulted from the merger of the Alberto Sampaio Secondary School and the Nogueira School Group. The school serves a diverse student population from various social and economic backgrounds, offering quality education through experienced teachers in subjects such as languages, mathematics, sciences, and arts.
Additionally, it provides support for students with special needs through psychologists and special education teachers, enriching the educational experience.
The school offers numerous clubs and activities where students can engage in their free time, including sports, science, music, and arts. These clubs not only foster social skills but also aim to raise awareness about environmental issues. Through its Eco-Schools project, the school organizes various initiatives that focus on environmental sustainability and climate change, promoting a sense of responsibility among students.
AESAS has actively participated in several national and international projects related to environmental issues and climate change. Initiatives like Erasmus and eTwinning provide students with opportunities to learn about these critical topics and develop awareness. Recent exhibitions and events have played a crucial role in helping young people cultivate an understanding of healthy living and environmental consciousness, encouraging them to think critically about global challenges.
The school collaborates with Braga City Council on environmental and climate policies, involving both students and teachers in these efforts. Partnerships with the UMinho and various educational activities enhance students' access to scientific knowledge and encourage their participation in social movements. These efforts highlight that a healthy lifestyle and environmental awareness are attainable for all, fostering broader consciousness around these vital issues.
