Transnational meeting has started in Braga, Portugal
The second transnational meeting of the project has started on November 12, 2024, in Braga, Portugal, hosted by Universidade de Minho and AESAS. Over the meeting of three days, the project's progress will be evaluated.
The GREENLIGHT Project, within the scope of which the second transnational meeting was organized, was successfully held in the city of Braga, Portugal. The three-day meeting brought together the project partners, enabling the evaluation of activities carried out in the field of energy and sustainability, as well as the planning of future actions.
At the opening of the meeting, the host Prof. Dr. Laurinda Leite welcomed the participants, and the project coordinator Prof. Dr. Hülya Sabasat delivered a general presentation of the project. Subsequently, the President of the Institute of Education, Prof. Dr. Beatriz Pereira, and the President of the School of Sciences, Prof. Dr. José Meijome, addressed the participants, introducing their institutions and emphasizing the academic relevance of the project. The Director of AESAS, Dr. João Andrade, also addressed the participants and explained the importance of the project for the schools under his management.
During the first day of the meeting, administrative and financial issues were discussed, and detailed evaluations were carried out regarding reporting processes, timelines, and financial documentation. In addition, the project website was introduced and officially launched. Although the planned technical visit to DST Solar could not be carried out due to last-minute unforeseen circumstances, a representative of the company participated in the meeting. Instead, a visit to the AESAS campus was conducted, where the educational environments were observed on site.
On the second day, research activities related to energy and sustainability were evaluated, and joint decisions were made regarding the further development of project outputs. Furthermore, an exchange of views on the energy transition took place with representatives of ÉRRE, DST Solar, and the Municipality of Braga.
On the third day, the activities to be carried out within the scope of Work Package WP3 were discussed in detail, and the distribution of tasks as well as the timeline were clarified. The participants also visited the laboratories where research on renewable energy is conducted and received information about the technical activities.
The meeting concluded with a certificate ceremony and a closing program. The participants received their certificates, and a strong basis for cooperation among the project partners was established. Despite some changes in the initial plan, all activities were successfully completed, and the meeting was evaluated as an important step for international cooperation within the GREENLIGHT Project.
