Renewable Energy and STEAM Waste Material Exhibition

SMCAHL students prepared STEAM studies on renewable energy by reusing waste materials within the scope of the GREENLIGHT project. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness of sustainability, recycling and renewable energy.

Erasmus+ KA220 GREENLIGHT – Generating Renewable Energy Education Network: Leading Initiatives for Green & Harmonious Tomorrows project organized an exhibition with the aim of raising environmental awareness, drawing attention to renewable energy sources, and increasing students' awareness of sustainability.

As part of the exhibition, students presented to visitors their STEAM studies on renewable energy sources prepared by re-evaluating waste materials. The main purpose of using waste materials in the studies is; to reduce the amount of waste, develop awareness of reuse and recycling, prevent unnecessary consumption of natural resources, and provide students with a practical understanding of the circular economy approach. The Erasmus+ KA220 GREENLIGHT – Generating Renewable Energy Education Network: Leading Initiatives for Green & Harmonious Tomorrows project organized an exhibition with the aim of raising environmental awareness, drawing attention to renewable energy sources, and increasing students' awareness of sustainability.

In this context, students repurposed various materials that were no longer used in daily life or had become waste, developing models and designs focusing on the sun, wind, and other renewable energy sources. In this way, they experienced how waste can be transformed into a reusable resource while also transforming what they learned about renewable energy and a sustainable environment into concrete STEAM studies.

Through the activity bringing together the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, it was aimed to support students' skills in problem solving, creative thinking, designing, and developing innovative solutions to environmental problems.

In addition, posters and brochures prepared by participating students and teachers on the topics of environment, renewable energy, energy conservation, recycling, and sustainability were also presented to visitors.

The exhibition aimed to increase students' sensitivity to environmental problems, help them understand the importance of re-evaluating waste, raise their awareness of renewable energy sources, and develop individual responsibility for a more sustainable future.
