Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) Hosts Science Café for Project GreenLight
Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU), through its Science Communication Office, successfully organized a Science Café event to the Project GreenLight.
The event took place at Ula Şehit Öğretmen Sezgin Keçeci Anatolian Imam Hatip High School Conference Hall on February 19 and brought together approximately 100 students from local schools, including Hüseyin Ercan Ermaş Marble Anatolian High School and surrounding institutions.
The session was led by distinguished contributors from MSKU, including Prof. Dr. Hülya Kara Subaşat, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gürcan Çetin, and PhD candidate Özay Eroğlu. The event, titled “Strengthening Energy Literacy and Renewable Energy Awareness with the GREENLIGHT Project”, focused on enhancing students’ understanding of energy literacy and promoting awareness of renewable energy and sustainable living practices.
Participants were introduced to the objectives and outputs of the GREENLIGHT project, including the Renewable Energy Resources Database, interactive e-learning modules, digital educational games, and STEAM-based workshop activities. Through interactive presentations and practical examples, students explored how energy choices impact climate change and environmental sustainability.
The Science Café provided an engaging platform for discussion and learning, empowering students with knowledge and tools to adopt energy-efficient and sustainable behaviors in their daily lives. The event also contributed to the broader goals of Project GreenLight EU in fostering environmentally conscious communities and supporting green transitions in education.
